This is going to be hard
Today I went to CLP Recruitment, an agencie in Dublin for those who are looking for a job.
The main office is near to the school, so it was really easy to get there. Once we were inside, in the hall a girl (the recepcionist) receaved us and asked for my cv. I gave it to her and in a few minutes a man came to us, he was Spanish and started speaking Spanish to us.
I explained to him what I was looking for… I’m an engineer and I’d like to find a job related to my studies (directly or indirectly). First of all, he told me that I had to change my cv format, it seems that here in Ireland the european template doesn’t work very well.
As a new licenciate, I should enter in a companie in the way “entry level”. Usually they form young people and give them experience. But this guy explained to me that as of five months ago the situation has changed a lot and now there are no more this kind of offer for new licenciates.
I feel that this is going to be very bad for me, but not only in Ireland, also in Spain. The companies don’t seem to look for new licenciates anymore, at least until the crisis finishes… but the crisis has just started. So what should I do now?. Of course I’m going to keep looking for a job, there is no problem for me if I have to work as a waiter or whatever. But this time is being wasted if I can’t get experience, I will have always the same problem.

Don’t give up. Nowadays is difficult to find a job in a factory as engineer (civil, industrial,…) but in software field, I think, there are lots of vacancies. There are a lot of work to do and you usually handle free software tools, so it should be an advantage in a job interview. Go ahead
